Μετά από μόλις 12 χρόνια χρήσης αυτό το υπαίθριο πλατύσκαλο σε είσοδο νοσοκομείου παρουσίασε ρωγμές, αποσάθρωση και έντονες κηλίδες από τη φθορά του χρόνου και τις αναγκαίες διαδικασίες αποπαγοποίησης λόγω των ακραίων χειμώνων στην πολιτεία του Κολοράντο των ΗΠΑ. Οι ακμές ("μύτες") των σκαλοπατιών σε αρκετές περιπτώσεις είχαν ραγίσει, και σε ακόμη περισσότερα σημεία υπήρχαν αποκολλήσεις τσιμέντου.
Αρχικά έγινε καθαρισμός των κηλίδων. Στη συνέχεια χρησιμοποιήθηκαν τα βασικά πολυμερή της σειράς ENECETE, το DuraQuartz και το DuraFill. Με το DuraQuartz έγιναν οι επισκευές στις ακμές των σκαλοπατιών και συμπλήρωση των κενών στα πατήματα και τα ρίχτια (ύψη των σκαλοπατιών). Έπειτα, και αφού προστατεύθηκαν οι ενώσεις και οι αρμοί διαστολής, ακολούθησαν τρία χέρια επίστρωσης "broadcast" με το Durafill.
Η λύση αυτή όχι μόνο προσέφερε εγγυημένα ανθεκτική λύση στο πρόβλημα αποκαθιστώντας τη δημόσια ασφάλεια, αλλά πέτυχε επίσης ένα εξαιρετικό αποτέλεσμα από αισθητικής απόψεως. Ο πελάτης έκανε λόγο για βελτίωση "υπεράνω του 100%". Τέλος, και σημαντικότερο χαρακτηριστικό της εφαρμογής, για τον οικονομικό διευθυντή του νοσοκομείου σε κάθε περίπτωση, στοίχισε $15.000 δολάρια λιγότερο από την εναλλακτική της πλήρους αντικατάστασης, επιλογή η οποία θα απαιτούσε και πολύ περισσότερο χρόνο πριν την επαναφορά του πλατύσκαλου σε λειτουργία.

Hospital Entry Staircase ‘Healed’ with DuraQuartz & DuraFill After only 12 years in use this staircase was cracked, crumbling and badly stained from the harsh elements and routine de-icing efforts during the harsh Colorado winters.
Stair noses were broken on several stairs and there were multiple areas of missing concrete. The stairs were first cleaned with lemon juice to remove the staining. Then DuraQuartz was used to repair the stair noses and voids in the concrete. Seams and expansion joints were taped and three coats of a Durafill broadcast system were rolled out.
This application remedied the pubic safety hazard but it was an aesthetic improvement referred to as "better than 100%" by the client. This staircase is now an area of pride. Close to $15,000 was saved by using this ENECON method over a complete staircase replacement.
